| The label’s concept
is similar to a recipe for a delicious soup, based on plain water, to
which you’ve added a lot of special ingredients and tasty herbs and spices!
By varying the ingredients you can create any number of new dishes. In
the case of momental you take freshly composed electronic beats, track down talented
singers from Jamaica, and let them rap spontaneously to the rhythms. You
end up with plenty of exciting music that’s full of variety and real
fun.
Musically momental is aiming at a colourful mix of different styles. The basis is formed by dancehall and reggae, to electronic beats. This is amplified by trancelike techno elements, occasionally a dash of jazz, electrofunk, classic,house, dubstep, hip hop or RnB, or maybe a few bars of world music. Momental intends to bring people and widely varying cultures closer together through their music. No other art form is capable of this with so much harmony and pleasure as music. If we can make friends through our music, then this is enough for us! What does momental actually mean? Momental is a play on words, the combination of moment and mental, it’s the mental moment when you let yourself go, improvise, freestyle and have fun. It implies creaStive music production that doesn’t fasten on to one particular style or follow a fixed concept. |
